Welcome to the homepage of Manhatitlan Community Organization Inc! This website is still under construction, please stay tuned for updates! Manhatitlan aims to serve as a platform for preservation and advancement of Mexican, Mexican American and Immigrant narratives through dance, design and production. Our core foundation is the belief that it’s necessary to create one’s own opportunities in order to make spaces available for minority low-income communities in the arts and culture sector. Our programming includes Mexican folkloric dance classes as well as involvement in the writing, design, and production of major works in the group’s repertoire and community programming.
We place an emphasis on learning within an intergenerational and multilingual environment to form long lasting bonds and care within our members. We partake in both small and large scale free public programming partnering with public plazas, the DOT, museums, and other New York City organizations.
